Data.gov.uk goes live

The UK governments portal onto data resources, and a good amount of open data with it, has been publicly launched this morning.

At http://www.data.gov.uk it includes not only a CKAN based search of datasets, but also a range of spaces for people to discuss datasets and ideas for applications built atop the data.

All of which hastens the pressure for me to think about a good research design to start exploring the dynamics of open data use and impacts…
